July 4th party tips!

Can you believe we are already almost to the month of July? The year is truly flying by! What comes to your mind when you think of July? What you're going to be doing for the 4th of July of course! We're here to encourage you to not wait to get invited to a party this year, throw your own! We've put together some tips to make it easy on you to throw together a festive and cool party that everyone will be talking about.

1) Stars and stripes style!

Make sure your party style is on point this July 4th! We are obsessed with these Valerie platforms (and they're only $40 on ShoeBrats.com now!) These platforms can easily be taken from day to night. Style these sexy heels with some denim shorts and cute American t-shirt during the day for BBQs and pool parties. Headed to watch fireworks at a fancier party in the evening? Pair them with a sexy red dress like our Quinn bodycon can get ready to slay!

2) Patriotic Cocktails

Our go to patriotic cocktail is a pretty simple one! Summertime is great for eating fresh and delicious fruits because almost everything is in season! Not only do we love eating fruits, but we love having them in our drinks too! Sangria is a perfect and easy drink and always hits the spot when it's hot out. Grab your favorite red or white wine, add a hint of fresh cranberry or grape juice and throw in all of your favorite berries! Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, the more the merrier! Feeling a bit more adventurous? Check out these fun and crazy July 4th cocktail recipes from Good Housekeeping! They include firecracker berry margarita floats, red, white & blue boozy slushes and buzzed strawberry bites!

3) Sweet treats

One of our favorite (and easy) desserts to make for the 4th of July is an American flag cake! Buy your favorite cake mix (we like to use funfetti for an extra colorful touch) and bake said cake. Then let it cool! Once it's finished cooling, cover the entire cake with raspberries or strawberries except for the top left corner. In the left corner fit as many scrumptious blueberries as you can! Sprinkle powdered sugar on top of alternating rows to make the cake really look like a USA flag! Not a fan of powdered sugar? You can use less raspberries/strawberries and replace every other row with whip cream. Nom nom!

 4) Bandanna-chic decor

Bandanna's are the perfect way to add in an Americana-cool vibe to your party while also adding a ton of color! You can hang them up as decorations by themselves, wear them as a necklace or bracelet, and even use them as napkins! Speaking of napkins, try using them as a vessel for storing everyone's silverware! Just wrap a knife, fork and spoon inside of the bandanna and tie them up with a colorful string!
