Top 5 Festivals to Attend in 2017

It's that time of year again. Coachella's first weekend just ended and we all are having serious FOMO! With festival season now in full swing we got to thinking, what are the best festivals in America this year? We weighed lineups, location, and cost and comprised a list of what are sure to be the best festivals of 2017.

1) Coachella

Coachella is pretty much the perfect festival. Great parties, tons of celebrities, gorgeous scenery and an eclectic mix of musicians and artists. This years lineup features Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Lorde and The XX just to name a few. Judging from some of our favorite celebrities Instagram accounts,*cough* Kylie Jenner, it looked like the first weekend was absolutely phenomenal!

2) Hangout Festival

Hangout Music Festival takes place every year in Gulf Shores, Alabama in the month of May. This years lineup features Chance The Rapper, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean, MGMT and loads of other amazing artists. Best part about this festival? It takes place on the beach! Literally! So if you were worried about the southern heat, fear no more! Just take a dip in the beautiful waters of Gulf Shores if things get a little too heated for you!

3) Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival

Bonnaroo always takes place in early June in Manchester, TN. I know what you're thinking, where the heck is Manchester, Tennessee?! It's about an hour away from Nashville and the festival offers shuttles to Nashville hotels if camping isn't really your thing. Some of the artists playing Bonnaroo this year are The Weeknd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flume and U2. A major bonus about Bonnaroo is that they not only focus on music, but to the arts as well. They also have a huge comedy lineup that is sure to keep you laughing all weekend.

 4) Essence Music Festival

Essence Music Festival is held in New Orleans, LA the last weekend in June. Artists playing this year include the legendary Diana Ross, John Legend, Jill Scott, Mary J. Blige, and Solange just to name a few. The festival is also featuring speaking events with Iyanla Vanzant, Dr. Cissy Houston, Rev. Al Sharpton and Phaedra Parks, along with many others. The event is hosted by Essence magazine so you know it's guaranteed to be an amazing time! Go ahead and book the whole week off and enjoy exploring the gorgeous city of New Orleans, you won't regret it!

5) Pitchfork Music Festival

This festival is probably the least known festival on this list, but it won't be for long! Chicago is host to Pitchfork Music Festival July 14-16 this year. Headliners include LCD Soundsystem, A Tribe Called Quest and Solange. Pitchfork is unique because it takes place at Union Park right in the middle of Chicago. Between the amazing music to the delicious foods the festival offers, it is sure to be a rockin' good time.
